Our Story

Hello, my name's Karen, and first of all I'd like to thank you for visiting our online store The Draper’s Daughter, where we sell a contemporary range of designer and organic fabrics, sewing accessories and gifts.

I’ve worked in fashion all my life and spent the last 15 years as a buyer for a lifestyle brand based here on the south coast. If you’ve ever bought a pair of Fat Face socks I was probably involved! But…. I always wanted my own business so, in search of a new challenge, I have now decided to combine my business skills with my love of all things fabric!

There is another person behind our company. Our daughter has been a great help in driving me on to set up this business. She oversees the opening of all the boxes as they arrive from suppliers and is in her element helping me sell at the craft fairs and events where we set up our stall. As part of the techie generation, she has also been known to help me out when I get stuck with the website and social stuff!

Our range is a carefully selected and edited range of good quality, contemporary natural fabrics, sewing accessories, trims and stitch kits. We aspire to be environmentally sound, and where we’ve been able to source organically, we’ve done so.

We hope that the products that we’ve lovingly selected from across the globe will take your sewing experience to a whole new level!! We’ll be adding new items to the range over the coming weeks and months, so do keep checking us out!
