Merchant and Mills The Harlene Dungarees Sewing Pattern. A traditional pair of easy fitting dungarees. Designed by Merchant and Mills, Harlene is a hard-working wardrobe staple featuring classic detailing and optional top stitching.

Skill level ∙ intermediate

This is a multi-size paper sewing pattern, including sizes 6 – 18. Seam allowances are included in the pattern at 1.5 cm, unless otherwise stated. The pattern comes carefully packaged in an envelope together with step-by-step sewing instructions to complete your project.

Suggested fabricsmedium weight woven cloth, 8 – 11 oz denim, cotton canvas, cotton drill, corduroy, yarn dyed linen. If you are using a thick fabric you may decide to cut the waistband and button fly pieces out of a thinner fabric to reduce bulk.

Trims needed • matching thread / (optional) contrasting thread / 2 x 40mm dungaree clips / 2 x adjustable sliders / 6 x 15mm hammer on buttons (or sew on buttons) / 0.5M of lining fabric for pocket, fly and waist facing. If your main fabric is light to medium weight you could use ‘self’ fabric for the fly and waist facing.
