The Assembly Line Balloon Skirt Sewing Pattern. Designed in Sweden by The Assembly Line, the Balloon Skirt is a midi-length skirt featuring a flared silhouette, a straight waistband, a concealed zip closure at the back, and side seam pockets. Designed for versatility, this skirt offers two style options: with or without the distinctive balloon effect.

Skill level ∙ Intermediate.

This is a multi-size paper sewing pattern available in two sizes, this pattern includes sizes L to 3XL, click here for sizes XS to L. The pattern comes carefully packaged in an envelope together with step-by-step sewing instructions including variations of the techniques required to complete your project.

Suggested fabrics • Light to medium-weight fabrics are ideal. The balloon option works best in a fabric with some structure to hold the balloon shape, while the skirt without the balloon looks beautiful in a fabric with drape.

Fabric requirements (140cm - 150cm fabric width)

Option 1 • L 3.0M / XL 3.2M / 2XL 2.8M / 3XL 3.4M

Option 2 • L 2.1M / XL 2.2M / 2XL 2.3M / 3XL 2.4M

For Option 1 you can choose to sew the lining skirt using lining fabric if you prefer: L 1.2M, XL 1.4M, 2XL-3XL 1.6M on 140 cm fabric width. Please note! You cannot reduce the main fabric with the same amount.

NB. This sewing pattern isn't suitable for narrower width fabrics
