The Assembly Line • Almost Long Trousers Sewing Pattern Review
Posted on March 08, 2025
I've made the Almost Long Trousers sewing pattern by The Assembly Line a few times now and every time I've really enjoyed the process of making them.

Suitable for beginners, they're a great style for your time sewing trousers. They're a pull on style with an elasticated waist so there's not zip or buttons to worry about. Plus the instructions are really clear and easy to follow.

The leg tapers towards the ankle, and both the waistband and bottom cuffs are elasticated. These trousers also feature in-seam pockets.

Attention to detail and interesting design details are signature features of The Assembly Line sewing patterns. One of the details that I really love with this pattern is the flat section at the front where the elastic is stitched before it's stretched to prevent it from gathering to create a more flattering silhouette.

Easy to wear, they're a style that you're sure to return to again and again. I made this latest pair in the Kora Corduroy by Mind the MAKER inspired by a similar ready-to-wear style by All Saints.
I lengthened this pair slightly for winter. I've also seen them lengthened without the cuff which works well too. For summer I'm planning to make a pair in the Laundered Linen by Merchant and Mills.
