Bilberry Watercolour by Merchant & Mills is a vibrant, mid-scale check fabric bursting with colour. Featuring bright pinks, blues, greens, yellow and orange, this bold design has a playful, hand-painted feel that brings instant energy to summer sewing projects.
Woven from lightweight Indian organic cotton, Bilberry Watercolour is soft, breathable and delicately crisp, making it ideal for warm-weather makes. Its finer check scale works beautifully for floaty tops, dresses with gentle volume and lightweight scarves, while also lending itself well to patchwork and light home décor projects such as semi-sheer curtains.
This fabric is especially well suited to relaxed, everyday garments like the Etta Dress or Winnie Pyjamas, where comfort and airflow are key.
Lightweight and easy to sew, this 100% organic cotton features a 5 x 5cm check with a 35cm pattern repeat. Yarn-dyed and made in India, it offers the character, quality and charm synonymous with Merchant & Mills textiles.
For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.

We recommend that you machine wash this fabric at 30 degrees before you start your sewing project. Ironing will not loose the surface seersucker texture.
