I've followed Jessie's work on Instagram for many years and have long admired her instinctive use of colour, pattern and fabric, so I'm particularly pleased to have her book in the collection.

Inside the book
Jessie introduces exercises and projects designed to build confidence in working more freely with fabric. You'll explore improvisational patchwork, hand stitching, tonal stripes, playful blocks and loose checkerboards, with projects including potholders and mini quilts.

What I particularly love about this book is its encouragement to let go of perfection. Rather than following a prescribed design, Jessie gives you the skills and confidence to experiment and develop something completely individual.
It's a wonderful book for anyone interested in patchwork and quilting, but I think it will also appeal to dressmakers looking for a creative way to use treasured fabric remnants and explore colour and composition away from a sewing pattern.
