The Assembly Line Cuff Top Sewing Pattern Review – Made in Nani Iro Fabrics
As soon as I first discovered The Assembly Line sewing patterns on Instagram, I was instantly drawn to their beautifully curated collection of modern dressmaking patterns. Their clean lines and thoughtful Scandinavian aesthetic immediately resonated with my own style. Not long after, I reached out to explore the possibility of working together on a wholesale basis — and I’m so delighted that they said yes.

The brand’s ethos really resonated with me: creating contemporary, functional, and stylish pieces that are designed to be made, worn, and treasured.
For this make I used the Cuff Top Sewing Pattern by The Assembly Line, a modern top with distinctive cuffed sleeves and clean lines.

The sewing instructions are beautifully clear and thoughtfully laid out, despite being translated from Swedish. I especially appreciated the technical tips included throughout, such as offering different seam finish options.
The Cuff Top is classed as a beginner-friendly pattern, and I would completely agree, with its grown-on sleeves and dart-free bodice, it comes together quickly and easily. The only part to watch out for is sewing the elastic into the sleeve cuffs; making sure the elastic is evenly distributed is key to achieving that polished finish.

I was so pleased with my first Cuff Top that I quickly made a second one, this time using one of our Nani Iro double gauze fabrics. I loved it just as much, and I’ve gone on to make several more! It remains one of my all-time favourite patterns.

As you can see, this versatile style looks fantastic in both prints and plains, adapting beautifully to different fabric choices. It has been such a success that The Assembly Line later released a dress version — the Cuff Dress — which I’ve also made and highly recommend.
